Well after a break of more than a year I am pleased to announce the arrival of our newest family member, Sophie Anne. I won't bore you with the soppy outpourings of a new mother, you can see the pictures for yourself. Emma, Paul and I are all blessed to have her with us.
Unlike Emma she arrived very quickly once labour was established, I was concerned we would have her in the car park of the hospital... but that was not the case. We made it to the birth suite and she was born 1 hour later. The full story is that we had been to the hospital earlier that day but they sent us home as things weren't progressing very quickly. But it seems a hot shower can soon bring things on!
Thankfully Grandma was on hand for the first 3 weeks to keep us all fed and sane. Grandpa came up for the weekend to meet Sophie and kept busy establishing a variety of pot plants including herb garden and a climbing jasmine to hide the front fence.
I have been kept busy feeding and trying to keep Emma from smothering Sophie with her love. Sophie is much less settled then Emma was and likes to snack and cat-nap as a pose to feed and sleep. I can count on one hand the number of times she has slept continuously for 4 hours... I think she might have made 5 hours once, of course that was during the day! The one night that she woke only once Emma had a fever and was sleeping in our bed anyway!
We are coming up to 8 weeks now so we will be off for immunisation next week.
I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has sent us lovely cards and beautiful clothes for our new princess. Who would have thought we could be so lucky?
